(KRON) -- A preliminary 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Humboldt County on Sunday afternoon, according to data from the United States Geological Survey.
The quake struck around 11:45 a.m. about 1.3 miles below the earth's surface. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration noted that there is no tsunami warning or threat as a result of the earthquake.
