SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The San Francisco Police Department confirmed one person died after a police shooting at Mariposa Street and Owens Street Thursday night.
SFPD said officers responded to the area at 7:48 p.m. for an aggravated assault. Officers located two men, and the police shooting occurred. SFPD did not describe what led up to the shooting. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
SFPD said no suspect was at-large. Police are investigating the incident.
The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management first reported heavy police activity in the area around 8:30 p.m. The incident delayed traffic, and the northbound Interstate-280 Mariposa off-ramp was closed.
