Large fire engulfs building in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) -- A building at 9th and Chester in Oakland is on fire on Monday morning.

Oakland Fire Live tweeted at 5:44 a.m. that command is pulling all units out of the building.

9th & Chester- Multiple hose lines deployed protecting surrounding buildings. Truck companies preparing for ladder pipe operations. #oakland

Smoke from the fire could be seen from miles away, according to a KRON4 employee who lives in Emeryville.
