ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) -- Alameda County has been allowed to move to California's least restrictive reopening tier, a week before the state removes the system entirely.
The restaurants and businesses will be allowed to welcome more people into their establishments starting Wednesday.
The changes mean indoor gyms, places of worship, and restaurants can operate at 50% capacity.
And bar-goers don't need to get a meal at the bar to enjoy a cocktail.
Bars where meals aren't served are allowed to reopen at 25% capacity or they can have 100 people inside their establishment at once.
Malls and stores can operate at full capacity.
Alameda County met the requirements to move to the yellow tier, with an adjusted daily new case rate per 100,000 residents of 1.5, a testing positivity rate of 0.7%, and a health equity quartile positivity rate of 1.3%.
The county's health officer credits the people who are vaccinated in reducing the number of case rates.
Health officials say people should still wear a mask indoors and outdoors when there is a crowd, even if you're fully vaccinated unless the state changes their guidelines.
County leaders say businesses may want to use this week to plan for the broad reopening on June 15.
This means there will be no more capacity limits and distancing restrictions will be lifted throughout California.
Here are the full yellow tier reopening details for Alameda County, via the state:
